Tragedy in Ukraine: Tanker and minibus crash kills 14
A tragic crash occurred in the Rivne region of Ukraine, claiming the lives of fourteen people, including a 6-year-old child. The collision involved a tanker and a minibus.
The accident happened on Saturday around 9:45 a.m. (Eastern Time) on the Horodyszcze-Rivne-Starokonstantyniv route, near the village of Verkhiv.
"Rescuers who arrived at the scene determined that there was an accident involving a truck and a minibus of the Mercedes Sprinter brand," reported the State Emergency Service of Ukraine in a statement.
Fourteen people killed
The collision resulted in the deaths of fourteen people, including a 6-year-old child. The victims comprise the vehicles' drivers and twelve minibus passengers.
Ukrainian Interior Minister Ihor Klymenko stated on social media that the police are investigating the causes of the accident.
"One woman survived, and doctors are fighting for her life. Condolences to the victims' families," wrote the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine on Telegram.
