On Wednesday, a dramatic incident unfolded in one of the local cafés in Cetinje. At least eight people, including two children, lost their lives in the attack, and several others sustained injuries.

The condition of four of the injured individuals is reported as critical, according to RTCG television.

The perpetrator, a 45-year-old man, used a firearm before fleeing. Law enforcement is conducting an intensive search and has urged residents to stay indoors for their safety.

The Montenegrin police stated that the incident is unrelated to organized crime groups. Special police units have been deployed to assist in capturing the suspect.

Public broadcaster RTCG reported that the Prime Minister of Montenegro has declared a three-day period of national mourning.

This is yet another mass shooting in this town. On August 12, 2022, an armed assailant was involved in a domestic dispute, ran into the street, and began shooting at passersby. He killed 11 people, including two children, and injured six others.

The assailant was subsequently shot dead by an armed resident of Cetinje. It was the deadliest mass shooting in Montenegro's history.
