A tragedy occurred in the zoological garden in Fukushima Prefecture. A zoo worker was found with neck and chest wounds. He was attacked by a lion. It was not possible to save the man.

A 53-year-old worker at Tohoku Safari Park in the city of Nihonmatsu in Fukushima Prefecture was attacked by a lion while he was trying to close the enclosure. Despite being transported to the hospital, the man died - reported by the Kyodo agency.

Kenichi Kato was found with wounds to the neck and chest. Security camera footage showed the moment of the animal attack.

53-year-old Kato was an experienced park worker. He had worked in the zoo for over 25 years. The director of the facility announced that the zoo will be closed until safety procedures are improved.

Hippopotamuses killed a sewage treatment worker

Another tragedy involving wild animals recently happened in Kenya, in the city of Naivasha. A group of hippos attacked a man who was on his way to his workplace. The man could not be saved.

Citizen Digital reported that colleagues who worked with the deceased in sewage cleaning talk about the fear that accompanied them every day. The number of hippos inhabiting ponds near the plant has dramatically increased in recent years. The workers appealed to the Kenya Wildlife Service (KWS) for help.
