Politicians from all over Europe reacted to the dramatic events, expressing their support for the victims and their families.

German Chancellor Olaf Scholz expressed his sympathy, emphasizing that his thoughts are with the victims and their loved ones. He also thanked the emergency services for their commitment during these difficult times.

Meanwhile, the leader of the German Christian Democrats, Friedrich Merz, who is considered a successor to Scholz, also shared his sorrow with the victims' families, thanking the responders for their work at the scene of the tragedy. "My thoughts are with the victims and their families," he wrote.

Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban sent condolences to Chancellor Scholz and the people of Germany. "We pray for the families of the victims," he wrote.

"My thoughts are today with the victims of the brutal and cowardly act in Magdeburg," wrote European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen. "I extend my condolences to the relatives and friends and thank the police and rescuers," she added.

"I am deeply shocked by the horror that took place tonight at the Christmas market in Magdeburg, Germany," wrote the President of France.

Associate of President Donald Trump, Elon Musk, described the attack as "deliberate mass murder." The controversial billionaire sent out a series of posts, in one of which he insulted the German Chancellor.
