The 2024 model year of Toyota's Mirai is set to hit the Japanese market, standing out with its revamped interior and upgraded equipment. These upgrades are particularly noticeable in safety and driver-assistance systems.

The new Mirai, available in Japan from December 18, 2023, now boasts the latest version of the Toyota Safety Sense system. Features include the Proactive Driving Assist function, marking another step towards autonomous driving.

The redesigned vehicle also includes a pre-collision system, with pedestrian and cyclist detection, lane assist, cross-traffic monitoring, adaptive cruise control, automatic headlights, blind spot sensor, and traffic sign recognition.

The updated interior showcases a 12.3-inch multimedia screen along with ambient lighting, allowing occupants to choose from 64 colors. Another notable addition is the digital key functionality that lets you start and unlock the car using a smartphone app.

Toyota has not specified whether the updates will extend to the 185 HP hydrogen propulsion system. More details are expected immediately after its market debut. Similarly, we anticipate these changes to reach European or American models in the coming months.
