On Wednesday, according to ABC News, Toyota announced a recall of approximately 280,000 Toyota Tundra pickups and Lexus LX 600 SUVs produced in 2022 and 2023. Additionally, 2023 and 2024 Toyota Sequoia SUVs are also included.
The reason for this decision is problems with the gearboxes in these models. Some parts of automatic transmissions in vehicles may not switch off immediately when the vehicle is in neutral, the Japanese company has announced. Such an event may increase the risk of road accidents.
In 2021, Toyota announced the construction of a new factory in the United States, where batteries for hybrid and fully electric cars will be produced. According to The Detroit News, the value of the factory is expected to reach $1.29 billion, and it will employ 1,750 people. Battery production is scheduled to start in 2025.
