Formula 1 has been experiencing a resurgence lately, attracting major automotive companies. For example, Audi is taking over Sauber. Toyota is joining the ranks of manufacturers aiming to make their presence felt in the paddock.
The Japanese giant has announced a partnership with the American team Haas. The collaboration is expected to bring mutual benefits. Toyota will provide Haas with its expertise, engineers, and facilities based in Cologne, Germany, while Haas will allow Toyota to delve deeper into the world of advanced F1 technologies. Toyota engineers are also set to co-develop the cars' aerodynamics and influence the operation of key components.
Time will tell if this cooperation will evolve into something bigger. For now, Toyota does not plan a full return to F1, but who knows? Perhaps the experience gained with Haas will lead to creating a factory team in a few years.
