On Monday, August 12, around 1 AM Eastern Time, the police in Algarve, Portugal, received a report about a possible crime. The incident allegedly took place near the tourist hotspot of Albufeira. The victim was a woman, around 50 years old, from Ireland.

According to the British tabloid "The Sun," the woman was attacked and probably violated by two assailants, who are currently being sought by the police. Officers are analyzing surveillance footage and gathering testimonies from potential witnesses.

More crimes committed by tourists in Algarve

This is not the first instance of crimes involving tourists in Algarve. The last notable incident occurred a month ago, on July 29. In the same district as the probable violation of the Irish woman, there were riots. During the riots, there was an attempted murder.

The investigation into this case led Portuguese investigators to one of the Irish tourists involved in the mentioned brawl. The Irishman was charged with attempted murder and injuring several people. The reason for this bloody quarrel was reportedly loud music played by Dutch citizens.
