As it stands, Real Madrid finishes the year in the top spot. However, they share an equal number of points with Girona FC, who are hot on their heels in second place. Atletico Madrid and FC Barcelona follow closely behind.
Capitalizing on the hiatus, Toni Kroos, among others, used the opportunity to visit his family. The Real Madrid midfielder posted an endearing photo on his social media where he can be seen alongside a family member.
At first glance, it's evident that Kroos is posing with his grandfather in the photo. However, one social media user posed a question, wondering if the man standing next to him was his father.
"No, it's my brother," came the cheeky reply from Kroos.
At 33 years old, Kroos continues to compete at the top tier of international soccer. His future is currently up in the air as his continuation with Real Madrid heavily depends on whether he decides to renew his contract.
Kroos, a former Bayern Munich player, moved to Spain in 2014. Since then, he's been a steadfast defender for the Royals, and has helped them to secure the Champions League title four times.
