Nasty fridge odors can be quite bothersome. A proven method of restoring a pleasant smell in our fridge involves placing a roll of toilet paper inside. While it sounds odd, this method really works and is based on a straightforward principle.

Once we place a roll of toilet paper in the fridge, it begins to absorb all unwanted smells. However, the primary trick is what we soak the paper roll in beforehand. We create a solution of water and baking soda, soak the paper roll in this mixture, and then place it in the fridge. The baking soda helps to absorb smells, leaving us with a fresh-smelling refrigerator.

A roll of toilet paper isn't the only solution to persistent fridge odors. There are several home remedies which work equally well. Another effective method is to place a black tea bag in the fridge. For those in the know, tea bags can remove unpleasant fridge odors within two days. However, keep in mind that a single bag might not suffice. The number of bags needed will depend on the size of your fridge - the larger the fridge, the more bags you'll need.

Another tactic to combat bad odors is using a raw potato. A raw potato similarly absorbs odors. If we select this option, remember to replace the potato every few days. Failure to do this could result in exacerbating the existing smells, rather than eliminating them.
