Rising heating bills can be overwhelming, so many people are looking for ways to reduce them. Dana Kayal, who is actively growing her TikTok account, shared a trick that each of us can try. For this, you need to prepare your windows properly.

Tiktoker advises on how to lower heating bills

According to Dana Kayal, simple solutions are often the best. Unfortunately, we tend to overlook them. This is the case here as well. The Tiktoker emphasizes that it's very important to fully utilize nature's advantages during the fall-winter period.

She suggested to her followers to remove mosquito screens from their windows. She believes these screens may block sunlight, which in turn could hinder the natural heating of rooms. Consequently, using radiators may become unnecessary.

On sunny days, she revealed, she does not use the stove before 4 PM, nor does she use electric heating. She also admitted that she specifically chose a house with south-facing windows to take advantage of free solar energy. This was described in the comments as a "brilliant and free trick."

Heat your home without using the radiator

There is also another way to reduce heating bills. In addition to removing mosquito screens, it's helpful to set windows to winter mode by adjusting their fittings. This reduces heat loss and improves thermal efficiency. After the heating season, switching windows back to summer mode is recommended.
