TikTok mom's poolside strategy: Early bird gets the loungers

A TikToker and mother of three admitted in a short video that she gets up at 7:00 AM during vacations to go down to the pool and reserve loungers for her family. "I know it's controversial, but I don't care," she said.

Danielle, a mother of three from the United Kingdom, shared a video on TikTok showing how, during her vacation in Spain, she heads to the pool at 7:00 AM to place towels on loungers closest to the water.

Reserving loungers with towels

"Yes, I'm that mum who gets up really early to put her towels around the pool so that I'm guaranteed to get a bed," she says in the recording.

She explains that she does this because she has three young children, including a two-year-old son who loves spending time in the water. "I want to be as close as I can be to that pool so that I can see him," she adds. She admits that this may be controversial for some, but for her, the safety of the children and the comfort of spending time by the pool all day is important.

According to Danielle, the hotel pool opens at 10:00 AM, and then everyone runs to the loungers. However, she avoids the crowd by reserving spots earlier.

Her video, posted on the @daniellemsands23 account, has already been viewed over 120,000 times. A discussion erupted in the comments section. Some users admitted they do the same. "Yep I am exactly the same!! And we are there all day (with the exception of breakfast and lunch)," writes one mom. Another adds: "I do this! Gotta get good seats for the babies and can keep your eye on them then."

However, there are also those who criticize such behavior. "Absolutely not! I have kids as well and it's a no from me. I would remove them and hand them to the receptionist," comments one person. Someone else writes: "I'm the one who sees your towels and throws them into the pool because there's no such thing as reserving loungers."

In response to the criticism, Danielle stated: "No one ever touches my towels. I've been doing this for 10 years, and they've never been moved!"
