The Honduran star - Teofimo Lopez retains his WBO world title despite a controversial verdict and even a twelve-round struggle.

Honduran star Teofimo Lopez defended his title in the twelve-round showdown against Jamaine Ortiz. Neither boxer could break his opponent, and the defending champion won in one-sided voting by the judges: 117-111, 115-113, and 115-113. The result triggered boos.

The fight was not for aesthetics but for the result; everyone respected it greatly. It was a magnificent showcase of boxing strategy, stamina, and determination. Lopez was trying his straights and hooks but in a modest, well-thought way. Ortiz was not beholden. He managed to trigger the fear in Lopez's eyes, but in the end, it was the star from Honduras who turned out to be a better chess player.

It is a crucial win for Lopez as he has doubts about his form and boxing abilities lately. He is still an undisputed champion and the best welterweight boxer in the world. Many names are about to challenge him, but for the time being, he remains safely in his position.
