The volleyball player changed her profession. It was a bullseye
Cindy Marina has a volleyball career behind her. She also gave up modeling, all for sports journalism. It's in this profession that she has found herself like a fish in water.
Cindy Marina was born in Chicago, specifically in the state of Illinois. However, both her parents were from Albania. Both had sporting backgrounds, as her father played soccer in universities in his home country, while her mother was a professional volleyball player both in her home country and in Italy.
Marina followed in her mother's footsteps and started playing volleyball from a very young age. She represented American teams such as the Duke Blue Devils and the USC Trojans. In 2015, she joined the Albanian team and won third place in the Silver League at the 2018 Women's European Volleyball League in Hungary.
She played for her national team when she was just 17 years old. There is no younger volleyball player than her who has debuted in the national team of Albania.
In addition to volleyball, Marina was also involved in modeling. In 2019, she was chosen as Miss Universe Albania. After this event, her career picked up pace, but she has decided to abandon it for now.
The Albanian-American model is currently working in sports journalism. Two years ago, she joined Oversport television. They handle broadcasts of the Champions League and the Italian Serie A both in Albania and in Kosovo.
She was keen on working while attending meetings in Italy, because she had been a lover of their culture her entire life. This was all thanks to relatives whom she would visit every summer.
"It's exciting to be just a few steps away from the field and feel the energy of the fans. In the future, I would like to be part of a large network full-time in Italy or the US," Marina admitted in one of her interviews.
