Biden: New sanctions on individuals and Buy Cash. US will never support Hamas' financing
The U.S. Treasury Department imposed sanctions on nine individuals from Sudan, Turkey, Qatar, and Algeria, as well as the Buy Cash cryptocurrency exchange in Gaza, on Wednesday. This is in response to the financing of the Palestinian Hamas' activities. According to the head of the department, Janet Yellen, this is expected to disrupt the flow of money to the organization.

As the department reported, the six people subject to sanctions are individuals "associated with Hamas's secret investment portfolio", creating a network of entities in Sudan, Turkey, and Algeria, dealing with Hamas's investments. Furthermore, two high-ranking representatives of the organization were added to the sanctions list, including one residing in Qatar, and the Cryptocurrency Exchange Buy Cash, situated in Gaza, is exploited by Hamas, and in the past, it was also used by the Islamic State (IS).
These individuals supported Hamas and other terrorist organizations, allowing Hamas to (...) carry out acts such as the brutal attack on Israel - reads in a statement signed by the US Secretary of State Antony Blinken.
The politician emphasized at the same time that US actions are directed against Hamas, not the Palestinians.
USA wants to hit the finances of terrorists
Yellen announced that sanctions are part of long-term efforts aimed at "effectively disrupting terrorist finances."
- We will continue to take all necessary steps to deprive Hamas terrorists of their ability to raise and use funds to commit crimes and terrorize the people of Israel. This includes imposing sanctions and coordinating with allies and partners to track, freeze, and confiscate all assets related to Hamas in their jurisdictions - she stated.
According to the American Department of Finance, there are currently almost a thousand people and entities associated with Hamas, Hezbollah, and other organizations supported by Iran on the sanctions list.
US President Joe Biden visited Israel on Wednesday. - "Don't let anger consume you; don't make the mistakes America made after the 9/11 attacks," he declared. The President assured Israel of America's unending support but urged them to adhere to the laws of armed conflict.
