The US dispatched a nuclear ship. Official statement released
The US Central Command disclosed on Sunday that an Ohio-class submarine has arrived in its "area of responsibility", spreading across the eastern Mediterranean, the Red Sea, the Persian Gulf, and the Gulf of Oman.

The Ohio-class vessels are nuclear-powered units outfitted with nuclear warhead missiles.
In the command's statement, the exact location of the ship was omitted. As underscored by the Times of Israel, its arrival might be part of a similar strategy that previously led to two US attack ship groups, accompanied by aircraft carriers, being dispatched to this region.
As the portal underlines, this is intended to "deter Iran and its affiliated groups, including Lebanese Hezbollah, from striking Israel, which is carrying out offensive operations in Gaza against Hamas."
Rockets Target Israeli City
In the meantime, Hamas terrorists have persisted in their aggression against Israel. On Sunday evening, rockets were launched at the northern city of Kiryat Shmona.
The authorities report over half of the 13 rockets launched fell within the city's borders. As reported, the rockets originated from Lebanon in the north. Three rockets substantially damaged residential buildings, and one struck a vehicle. Fortunately, no casualties have been reported.
The city currently has no power due to damages inflicted on the power line. The majority of residents have been evacuated, and those who remain have been advised to stay close to shelters.
Earlier on Sunday, Lebanese Hezbollah issued a threat to Israel, vowing they would "pay the price" after reports from Lebanese security services claimed an Israeli rocket had struck a vehicle in the country, resulting in four casualties.
The Israeli forces and Hezbollah, with Iran's backing, have been exchanging gunfire since October 7, following the attack on Israel by Palestinian Hamas from the Gaza Strip, which killed 1400 and kidnaped over 240 people.
