One of the first desserts I made on my own was cupcakes. They are so easy to prepare that even a child can do it, and the joy of baking is truly immense. These treats are easy to pack for work or school so you can enjoy a sweet snack on your break. You can also take them with you on a trip or serve them to your loved ones with a hot cup of tea, coffee, or cocoa.

Yogurt Cupcakes

Yogurt cupcakes are quick and straightforward to prepare. They taste great on their own, but you can also decorate them with cream, colored sprinkles, or icing. These cupcakes rise beautifully in the oven, filling the house with an aroma that is sure to make your mouth water. Moreover, you don't have to worry about carefully measuring ingredients by weight - you can use a yogurt cup for this task.

  • 6.34 oz. natural yogurt,
  • 3 eggs,
  • a spoon of vanilla extract,
  • zest of one orange,
  • 2 teaspoons of baking powder,
  • a pinch of salt,
  • 3 cups of wheat flour,
  • 1 cup of oil,
  • 1.5 cups of sugar.

Preparation Steps:

  1. Add yogurt, eggs, oil, vanilla extract and orange zest to a bowl and mix.
  2. In a separate bowl, combine the flour, sugar, baking powder and a pinch of salt.
  3. Mix the dry and wet ingredients together using a spatula.
  4. Transfer the prepared mixture into muffin forms, filling them about 3/4 of the way.
  5. Place in an oven preheated to 356 degrees Fahrenheit and bake for 20-25 minutes. Use a skewer to check if they are baked through.

After they've cooled, you can dust the cupcakes with powdered sugar, drizzle icing on top, or decorate them with mascarpone and whipped cream. If you like, you can also add some chopped chocolate to the mixture. A good yogurt base invites experimentation with different ingredients, allowing you to personalize your baking. This ensures that these delicious cupcakes will always bring you delight, never boredom.
