It takes just a brief moment of inattention to over-salt soup. So, how can we rescue the dish and avoid a culinary mishap?

A humble potato could be your solution. Simply peel it, wash it, and add it to the boiling soup. After about 15 minutes, the potato should absorb the excess salt. Remember to remove it from the broth afterward. A bag of rice can also work similarly.

Over-salted soup? Here's how to fix it

There are many ways to save over-salted soup. Often, the simplest solutions are the best, but unfortunately, we often forget them. That's the case here.

To improve the taste of over-salted soup, try diluting it slightly by adding some water. Be careful not to add too much, as you don't want to lose other flavors.

Milk or sour cream can also work well. These are especially good options for creamy or vegetable soups.
