Riot Games releases a several-minute-long film each year to announce the upcoming season. This has become a tradition and a part of the League of Legends culture. Sometimes these trailers leave a considerable impact even on players not associated with the game. While the effect was always impressive, this time fans are expressing their disappointment about its blandness. And the studio acknowledges, they have every right to do so.

Riot Games' studio has already addressed the concerns regarding the trailer. Key employees offered their apologies for the subpar quality and lackluster audio design. However, they also made another announcement: this summer we will be given a new game mode called 2v2v2v2 in a video published on the game's Twitter, as announced by Riot Brightmoon and Riot Meddler, although no further details were provided.

Riot's representatives additionally explained why League of Legends has stagnated. The game stopped developing because the company transferred the game modes team to work on Teamfight Tactics. Consequently, a new team was formed to develop new modes, and the first outcome is anticipated to be this eight-player mode. However, no details were shared in the video.

We can conjecture about what's to come based on previous similar actions. Riot's marketing team typically launches special skins related to the new modes. In essence, players received a new game mode and the opportunity to buy skins for it. A perfect example would be the event related to the Odyssey series, where we could play a mode reminiscent of an RPG/Hack and Slash, somewhat similar to Diablo.

So, we should currently anticipate a new series of skins, and as soon as they're released (probably closer to the summer), a sign that a new mode is on its way is likely. Announcements usually leak online in advance, so we should know more in a few months. We are hopeful that the 2v2v2v2 mode will add a fresh element to the gameplay in League of Legends.
