- The entire region is on the edge of a precipice. All our efforts are needed so that we do not fall into it - said Abdullah II during a joint press conference in Berlin.
It's bloody, and it could be worse
Scholz, who intends to go to Israel on Tuesday, also warned against escalation. - Our common goal is to prevent a fire in the region. I once again clearly warn Hezbollah and Iran not to interfere in this conflict - he announced, referring to the Shiite party and group of fighters operating in Lebanon, supported by Iran and hostile to Israel.
The King of Jordan assessed that the war between Israel and Hamas, which started on October 7, is the "bloodiest for both Palestinians and Israelis in recent memory." - It will get even worse if we don't stop this war and the humanitarian disaster it is causing - he warned.
The King of Jordan has drawn a "red line"
Abdullah II categorically opposed the potential migration of Palestinians from the Gaza Strip to his country, defining this as a "red line".
- No refugees in Jordan, no refugees in Egypt. This is a humanitarian situation that needs to be dealt with inside the Gaza Strip and the West Bank - he said.
Diplomatic game in the shadow of war
The Israeli army has been bombing the Gaza Strip in response to an attack by the Palestinian terrorist organization Hamas since October 7th, and is preparing for a ground invasion of the enclave. They have ordered civilians living there to evacuate from the northern part of the strip to the south. The borders of the Gaza Strip with Israel and Egypt remain closed.
Efforts to prevent the conflict between Israel and Hamas from spreading to other countries are also pursued by US diplomacy. US Secretary of State Antony Blinken visited a number of Arab countries last week and assessed that their leaders are determined to prevent this conflict from spreading to other countries in the region.
