The animals living in the Australia are dangerous - both tourists and residents of the continent know this. This theory can be confirmed by Mick Moloney residing in the town of Mildura on the Murray River in Victoria. The man went for a walk with his four dogs combined with running training along the Murray. At some point, he realized that one of the dogs was missing.
Kangaroo vs dog - the final showdown
When Moloney noticed the lack of a dog, he immediately started an operation aimed at quickly finding the quadruped. From the very beginning, a kangaroo standing in the river was watching the search. After a moment, the man noticed that the animal was holding something in its front paws. It turned out to be the sought-after dog of the Akita breed, Hatchi. The owner, without much thought, rushed to the rescue. The whole incident was recorded on a cell phone. "I thought otherwise no one would believe it," he said in an interview with ABC Melbourne.
As Mick Moloney said in an interview with ABC Melbourne: "I looked (towards the river - editor's note) and behind the reeds I saw a massive kangaroo... holding its paws in the water and staring at me." The situation was dramatic. Water was squirting from the dog's muzzle, and the animal was also "whining mercilessly". The owner initially tried to make noise to scare off the kangaroo. However, when this did not work, he threw himself into the murky water.
From the recording shared on the internet, it appears that the killer kangaroo had no intention of running away. "It essentially looked like it was about to kick me. I splashed water in its muzzle and released my dog, but when I was getting out of the water, it wanted to attack me again," said the Australian in an interview with ABC Melbourne. In the video you can see how Moloney's phone falls into the water. Eventually, however, Hatchi was released.
The dog probably attacked the kangaroo
A representative of the association dealing with the protection of wildlife in Australia stated in an interview with ABC Melbourne that the probable culprit of the incident was a dog. "A normal reaction of a kangaroo being chased by a predator is to flee in panic," said Lisa Palma. According to her, the situation would not have occurred if Hatchi had been on a leash.
