In 2023, no new iPad models made it to the market, contrary to expectations. There have been numerous leaks that may hint at Apple's plans for their tablet line.

This year, Apple opted not to release any new iPad models. A lot of analysts had anticipated new tablet launches, particularly bearing the signature bitten Apple logo, by October. However, the company only unveiled the Apple Pencil stylus. Yet, some reliable information on the iPad's future has recently been reported, courtesy of a reputable journalist, Mark Gurman.

Mark Gurman, a well-regarded journalist who specializes in Apple-related topics, released an article via Bloomberg detailing the company's plans for the iPad series. Gurman stated that Apple intends to rejuvenate the iPad Air and iPad Pro lines in early 2024. It’s worth noting that no new iPad models were released this year. Instead, the company focused on reducing prices for existing tablet models and featuring the Apple Pencil with a USB-C port.

There hasn't been any detailed or credible speculation regarding these devices to date. Analysts primarily speculated that the premier would happen next year. However, Gurman suggests Apple plans to implement dramatic changes to the Air and Pro iPad varieties.

If Gurman's assessments do materialize, two iPad Air models will be released. The smaller model is predicted to have a 10.9-inch diagonal screen, with its larger counterpart having a 12.9-inch screen, identical to the iPad Pro. Regardless, these will remain IPS displays with LED backlights.

This approach would lead to a product lineup similar to the iPhone's. Standard smartphones mirror the Pro series in size. The most affordable iPad model (presently the 10th generation) would equate with the iPhone SE in this regard.

In addition, Gurman forecasts that the upcoming iPads Pro will be fitted with an OLED display, replacing the mini-LED screens in current models. Up until now, the OLED technology, used in iPhones and Apple Watches, was deemed too costly for larger screens in tablets. It's also worth mentioning that these models will carry the M3 chip, one of Apple's latest Silicon systems.

With the launch of the new tablets, we can expect revamped accessories, including a new Apple Pencil stylus and a more robust, aluminum-framed Magic Keyboard.

The iPads in discussion are expected to be unveiled in March next year. The reveal might take place during a presentation, potentially with industry media representatives in attendance. It could also be an online event.

In conclusion, next year is also set for the debut of new iPad Mini models, and the 11th generation iPad. However, the release dates remain unknown.
