Argentine low-cost airline, Flybondi, has decided to permit passengers to resell their tickets, making it the first carrier in the world to do so. The company has developed a special platform that will track the transfer of the boarding pass.

Passengers can resell their tickets up to 72 hours before departure. The Ticket 3.0 platform, which Flybondi developed in collaboration with startup TravelX, will facilitate this process. A token generated with the original ticket will allow the carrier to trace the boarding pass holder.

In the last 12 months, the Argentine carrier experienced a significant increase in ticket reservation changes. Consequently, the airline is thrilled to be the first in the world to "offer complete flexibility to its customers."

Resale of Airline Tickets Currently Available Only in Argentina

The carrier does not conceal profit prospects, meaning the new initiative could also benefit passengers. For example, if a passenger purchases a ticket at a low price and the price surges due to high demand for that particular flight, they could recover the money spent and earn a profit.

The option to resell tickets currently only applies to domestic flights within Argentina. However, broader plans are being considered for the future.
