This is not a good time for either Warner Bros. or DCU fans. Over the past few weeks, conflicting information about the studio's plans for future projects has been emerging. For now, one thing is certain: Gal Gadot, Jason Momoa, Ezra Miller and other stars will not return to the universe.

As reported by Variety, actors who played popular characters from the comics in the films "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice" and "Zack Snyder's Justice League" will not return to the roles that brought them tremendous popularity. In the DCU universe currently being built by James Gunn and Peter Safran, there is no longer a place for them. However, some of them may appear in other incarnations.

Who will be missing in DCU?

Among others, the creators of "Guardians of the Galaxy" trilogy and "The Suicide Squad," Gunn, and Safran, the producer of "Shazam! Fury of the Gods" and "Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom," are the presidents and general managers of DC Studios. The "Superman: Legacy" planned for 2025 is to be the start of a new unified DC universe. This means changes in the cast.

As it turns out, none of the actors from the universe created by Snyder in recent years will return to their roles, and most of them will end their collaboration with the studio altogether. We won't see the entire superheroes team on screen: Superman played by Henry Cavill, Batman as played by Ben Affleck, Wonder Woman Gal Gadot, Aquaman Jason Momoa, Cyborg Ray Fisher, and Flash Ezra Miller. It's a surprising decision, especially since Gal Gadot recently informed that she would be working on the third part of her character's adventure with Gunn and Safran.

Who will remain in the DC universe?

The characters of the TV show "Peacemaker" led by John Cena do not have to worry about their position. We will also still be able to watch Viola Davis, whose character Amanda Waller will soon return in her own series as well.

Interestingly, one of "Snyder's actors" will not be completely excluded from the DCU. As reported by Variety, Jason Momoa was in talks to join the cast of James Gunn's "Superman: Legacy" even before the strike. He was supposed to join the movie, in which the new incarnations of the superhero (David Corenswet) and Lois Lane (Rachel Brosnahan) will be presented, as Lobo.

While waiting for the premiere in 2025, DC will also encourage us to go to the cinema for "Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom", which will hit screens on December 21, 2023.
