Torsten Müller-Ötvös served as the chief of Rolls-Royce for the past 14 years. He was the second longest-serving president in the history of the brand and an effective strategist who allowed it to flourish.
In 2009, when Müller-Ötvös took office, Rolls-Royce sold about a thousand cars a year. Today, they sell six times more. During his tenure, the average price of the vehicles sold has also significantly increased. Originally, it was 250 thousand euros. Today, the average amount exceeds 500 thousand euros.
The most important change, however, is the average age of customers, which has dropped from 56 to 43 years old. Rolls-Royce has unequivocally ceased to be associated with a brand for wealthy but very mature people.
After 14 years filled with success and passion, Torsten Müller-Ötvös has decided to retire and take a well-deserved and well-paid pension. He will be replaced by Chris Brownridge, the current head of the British division of BMW.
Brownridge has been working for the corporation from Munich for over 30 years. He will officially take over Rolls-Royce on December 1, 2023.
