Ingredients:

  • 1 2/3 cups of cake flour,
  • 1 teaspoon of baking powder,
  • 2/3 cup of sugar,
  • 4 eggs,
  • 1 3/4 sticks of butter,
  • 2 packets of cream pudding powder,
  • 1 quart of milk,
  • 2 packets of vanilla sugar,
  • 7 ounces of apples,
  • 2 packets of lemon jello,
  • 3.5 ounces of walnuts,
  • 5 tablespoons of honey,
  • 1 tablespoon of powdered sugar.

Method of preparation:

  1. Begin with the sponge cake. Separate egg yolks from whites and whip the whites until they form stiff peaks. Gradually add the sugar, followed by the yolks. Lastly, incorporate the flour and baking powder to the mix.
  2. Spread the mixture into a baking tin lined with parchment paper and bake in an oven preheated to 350°F for about 20 minutes.
  3. Next, prepare the apple puree. Peel and grate the apples. Add the lemon jello and lemon juice, and cook for about 10 minutes.
  4. Then, prepare the custard cream. Melt the butter in a pan, add the milk, vanilla sugar, and pudding powder, and cook, stirring constantly, until the cream thickens.
  5. Finally, it's time for the walnut topping. Toast the walnuts in a pan, add the butter, honey, and powdered sugar, and stir until you get a smooth texture.
  6. Spread the cooled sponge cake with the apple puree and smooth the surface. Top it with the custard cream and then the walnut topping.
  7. Let the cake rest in the fridge overnight.
