According to Fox News, the missing girl had been wanted by police since February 22, when she was last seen getting into a pickup truck in Houston.
Eight days after the incident, the girl was found alive, and after her identity was confirmed, she was transported to Texas Children's Hospital in Houston.
In connection with the investigation into her disappearance, Texas police arrested Sirterryon Preston, a 27-year-old from Houston, after he allegedly tried to escape from law enforcement. According to Fox News, the suspect is currently in the Colorado County Jail and may face further charges.
This is another high-profile child abduction case in Texas. In February, the media reported on the case of Audria Cunningham, an 11-year-old from Livingston. Unfortunately, unlike in this case, Audria could not be saved, as her body was found in the Trinity River a few days after the Amber Alert was sent.
