17-year-old Kyla Blight from the United Kingdom, who smoked 57 cigarettes a day, nearly had a heart attack after one of her lungs collapsed. Her family experienced true horror.

On Saturday, May 11, in the early hours of the morning, Mark Blight received a phone call informing him that his 17-year-old daughter Kyla had collapsed and turned blue during a sleepover at a friend's house.

Mark took her to the hospital, where she underwent a five-and-a-half-hour surgery to remove part of her lung, having been close to cardiac arrest.

Vaping is simply a term used to describe inhaling and exhaling vapor from an electronic cigarette. The aerosol from an electronic cigarette contains nine times less formaldehyde concentration, but that does not mean it is safe for our health.

As highlighted by manchestereveningnews.co.uk, Kyla spent another two weeks in the hospital before she could return home. After a brief investigation, it was revealed that she had started using electronic cigarettes at the age of 15, which quickly turned into an addiction.

The 17-year-old was smoking the equivalent of 400 regular cigarettes per week, which amounts to 57 cigarettes per day.

Mark revealed that although he caught his daughter vaping once, he did not realize she had started at the age of 15 and underestimated the extent to which she was doing it. The 61-year-old admitted that he had smoked for 13 years, but now, after seeing the dangers firsthand, he urges young people to stop.

I would tell parents that by not paying attention to what their child is doing, they will go through what I went through. It's just not worth it. Kids don't understand until it happens to them - said the father of the teenager on social media.
