Armed with a seemingly reckless plan, the Ostrava teenager aimed to support the Ukrainians in their fight against the Russians. He packed his backpack with a sandwich, grabbed his passport, and embarked on an unexpected journey.

Believing their son was at school, his absence went undetected till he failed to return home that evening. Worried, his parents reported him missing to the police.

Meanwhile, the determined boy wasn't idle. He breezed across the Czech-Polish border and steered towards Przemysl.

With a valid passport, he quickly crossed Ukraine via Poland. Luckily, his adventure did not last much longer.

Border Guard springs into action

On Thursday, Czech police sought help from the Border Guard officers at the Joint Outpost Contact Point in Chotěbuz. They contacted the Polish police, who quickly traced the boy's phone to the vicinity of Przemysl. It was soon confirmed that the boy had crossed the Polish-Ukrainian border.

"Thanks to the outstanding international cooperation, we could rapidly return the 15-year-old Czech safely to Polish soil. He is currently en route home safely," announced the Silesian Department of the Border Guard website.
