Taylor Swift concerts force Edinburgh to relocate homeless residents
According to the BBC, people experiencing homelessness are being transported from Edinburgh to other cities due to Taylor Swift's concerts. Fans fully book hotel rooms in advance, leaving no accommodations available.
Taylor Swift is on her international concert tour, "The Eras Tour." At the beginning of June, she will perform three shows in Edinburgh. The charity organization Shelter Scotland highlighted this situation, reporting that people experiencing homelessness are being relocated from the Scottish capital.
Under Scottish law, the city authorities are responsible for providing temporary accommodation for a maximum of seven days for people deemed homeless. According to Shelter Scotland, several clients were transported by taxi to other cities, including Aberdeen, Glasgow, and Newcastle, about 100 miles from Edinburgh.

This relocation is reportedly due to the upcoming concerts of the American singer. Hotels in the Scottish capital are fully booked by Swift's fans for the concert period, prompting representatives of the charity organization to call it a "blatant injustice."
Our frontline services are already seeing people in need of a bed tonight being told their only option is to leave the city, commented Alison Watson, director of Shelter Scotland.
City authorities, however, have stated that officials are working with people experiencing homelessness to organize "appropriate, alternative accommodation" for them. They have assured that this situation is not connected to providing lodging for Taylor's fans, and the BBC has confirmed that there is no evidence of homeless people being evicted from their temporary accommodations.
