We all dream of smooth and shiny locks, but sometimes they require more attention and the use of appropriate care methods. Frizzy hair is a nuisance that affects many. Rough and unruly strands can be difficult to manage.

This issue is often caused by high-porosity hair, which is characterized by widely open cuticles, leading to frizz and styling challenges.

A simple aluminum foil trick

Beauty expert Sarah Jossel demonstrated an easy method to tame frizzy hair using aluminum foil on the "This Morning" show. She claims that expensive cosmetics aren't necessary to achieve satisfying results. The method was first shared by Instagrammer Laila Högfeldt, who was thrilled with the outcome.

The method involves gently wrapping the hair with the matte side of the foil and sliding it along the entire length of the strands. This results in incredibly soft and smooth hair. The effect is due to the neutralization of electric charges that cause frizz. Aluminum foil emits negative charges that counteract the positive charges on the hair, reducing roughness and leaving the hair pleasantly smooth.

Alternative hair care methods

Although aluminum foil works wonders, it’s also important to care for your hair daily. If you want long-lasting smooth strands, using the right cosmetics is essential.

It's important to determine your hair’s porosity, which can be tested by dipping a strand in water. High-porosity hair requires specialized care using emollient and protein conditioners. Moisturizing cosmetics will also be beneficial.
