Hair is an attribute of femininity. Regardless of length, we want it to be shiny, smooth and well-maintained. Sometimes, the strands start to frizz, making them look less appealing and challenging to style. Sarah Jossel, a fashion and beauty journalist, showed a simple way to tame unruly strands. You need something you surely already have in your kitchen cabinet.
Wipe your hair with this. you'll forget about frizzy strands
Many people struggle with frizzy hair, which is influenced by many factors, such as the level of moisture or the overall condition of the strands. This phenomenon most often affects people with high-porosity hair, characterized by roughness and widely open cuticles.
Sarah Jossel, a beauty expert, argues that you don’t need to use any expensive conditioners or masks to tame frizzy strands. On the show "This Morning," she demonstrated a clever trick for unruly hair. She used aluminum foil for this.
How to smooth hair with foil: Wrap the matte side of the foil around the strands and slide it over them. Thanks to the ionization phenomenon, the hair will become soft and smooth in a moment. Positive charges appear on the hair, which are responsible for frizzing. Meanwhile, the foil emits negative charges, which neutralize them, making the hair nice to the touch.
How to tame frizzy hair?
The aluminium foil trick is effective, but it does not eliminate frizzy hair. Focus on comprehensive care if you want to enjoy smooth strands regardless of the day or weather.
Start by determining your hair's porosity. Simply place one strand in a glass filled with water. If the hair sinks quickly, it’s a sign that you have high-porosity hair. Medium-porosity hair sinks only halfway, while low-porosity hair stays on the surface for a long time and submerges only partially.
How to care for high-porosity hair? Make sure your bathroom shelf always contains emollient conditioners (based on butters and natural oils), moisturizing conditioners (with ingredients like betaine, aloe vera, or hyaluronic acid), and protein treatments (based on keratin or hydrolyzed wheat or silk).
Use them every time you wash your hair. Don't forget about the regular oiling of your hair. Repeat the procedure 2 to 3 times a week, and after a month, you will notice that your hair has become significantly smoother and less frizzy.
