The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Tajikistan has publicly refuted claims circulated by Russian media regarding the involvement of Tajik citizens in an attack at the Crocus City Hall concert venue.
Amidst rumors, Russian outlets had disclosed names of individuals from Tajikistan, alleging their participation in the terrorist attack that occurred on Friday. The Baza channel via Telegram disclosed that these individuals were apprehended near the border of Belarus and Ukraine, found traveling in a vehicle bearing Russian license plates.
Reports highlighted that the identities of four out of six suspected terrorists, presumed to be Tajik nationals, were established. Their registrations were linked to the Yaroslavl, Ivanovo, and Samara regions.
Despite the suspicions directed towards Tajikistan, officials have stated they will await official confirmation from Russia concerning the alleged involvement of their citizens in the assault on Crocus City Hall.

Ministry of Internal Affairs of Tajikistan Responds

In response to the Russian media's spread of misleading information, the Tajik Ministry of Foreign Affairs clarified the situation regarding their accused citizens. It was reported that two of them had returned to Tajikistan in November 2023 and resided in their hometown within the Djalaluddin Balhi district of the Khatlon region.

Furthermore, it was clarified that the third suspect, also alleged to be a Tajik citizen implicated in the Friday terrorist attack, is currently in Samara, Russia. He is employed as a taxi driver and was confirmed to have been in Samara at the time of the attack, thereby questioning the integrity of his alleged involvement.

The repercussions of the attack at the Crocus City Hall concert venue have been severe, with the number of injured individuals soaring to 154. 107 of these are hospitalized, while another 44 are receiving outpatient care. Three people have been discharged.

Recent updates confirm that the death toll from the terrorist attack near Moscow has tragically reached 133.
