An official from Tajikistan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs press department reported that the Russian Ambassador in Dushanbe, Semyon Grigoriev, was summoned. Here, he was presented with a note concerning the rights violations of Tajik citizens in Russia.
Russia, however, has dismissed these claims as baseless.
Increased insecurity among migrants and ethnic minorities in Russia
Following an incident near Moscow, Russian authorities have intensified operations against foreigners and ethnic minorities, with police sweeps and raids on student dormitories and areas with a high foreign and minority population.
According to "Politico", law enforcement has since late March embarked on an extensive crackdown involving mass checks and detentions, resulting in 466 individuals being charged, mostly for immigration and employment infractions, with many awaiting deportation.
In light of these developments, the governments of Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, and Kyrgyzstan—home to the largest groups of migrants in Russia—have issued advisories urging their citizens to avoid mass gatherings in Russia and to remain vigilant.
