On Saturday, August 10, Julia Szeremeta lost the final 125-pound fight with Lin Yu-Ting from Taiwan. Even before their bout, the 28-year-old faced enormous controversy regarding her gender. Doubts were expressed about whether she was genuinely a woman, as in 2023, the International Boxing Association (IBA) did not allow her to compete in the world championships because she failed gender tests.
These tests were conducted, however, by the Russian head of the federation, Umar Kremlev. The IOC later deemed these tests illegal and unreliable. Despite this, Lin Yu-Ting faced immense hate, and she will decide whether to take legal action against the haters after the Paris Olympic Games.
Taiwanese actress Ouyang Jing encourages her to do so by posting a special video on social media. In it, she directly named those she believes should be punished for the entire mess, including the famous writer J.K. Rowling, author of the Harry Potter series.
If the persecuted were ordinary people, it would be hard for them to withstand such pressure. We must file lawsuits against the IBA, J.K. Rowling, and others. Show your support today, she said, quoted by sport.pl.

The writer commented on one of the articles about her: - What needs to be done to end this madness? Does the boxer need to end up with life-altering injuries? Or maybe she needs to be killed? - we read. She implied that the woman was not fighting another woman but a man.
Ouyang Jing shared that she was also persecuted in the past by another actress who accused her of hiding her male gender.
When you see that someone else is a victim of bullying, speak up and let the victim know that someone is supporting them! If you have enough courage, remember to express your support publicly, but if you are very worried that you might also become a target of bullying, you must at least show support in a one-on-one conversation, she added.
