Rebels armed with heavy weapons: The situation in the city is "tense"
A rebel commander posted a recorded message on social media, calling on the residents of Aleppo to join forces with the advancing militants. The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights emphasizes that the situation in the city is highly tense.
The Syrian army has reported facing a "major attack" from "terrorist organizations" armed with heavy weapons and drones.
