A few hours later, the Turkish Ministry of Internal Affairs announced the detention of the man suspected of carrying out the attack. He is Russian Yevgeny Serebryakov.

Ali Yerlikaya, the Turkish Ministry of Internal Affairs head, stated that the man arrived from Moscow to Bodrum by plane at 4:40 AM ET. Notably, the attack occurred around 1:30 AM ET, and Turkish authorities were alerted by the Russians around 5:00 AM ET.

The attack on Russian officer Andrey Torgashov took place in Moscow, in a parking lot on Sinyavinskaya Street. His wife was also in the car with him. Both were taken to the hospital with serious injuries. The bomb exploded when the officer pressed the clutch pedal.

Lost his feet

Authorities confirmed that the military officer lost both of his feet. According to Baza, his condition is serious. City cameras captured the moment of the explosion.

The car belonged to Major Andrey Torgashov, deputy chief of the 89th Military Satellite Communications Center. According to online posts, a homemade bomb was planted in the car. A source from RIA Novosti suggested that the attack on the major's life might have been organized in connection with his professional activities.
