On the night from Monday to Tuesday in the mountains of North Ossetia, one of the autonomous republics in southwestern Russia, a Su-34 tactical bomber crashed.

The incident occurred "during a scheduled training flight," the Russian Federation Ministry of Defense reported.

The crew of the multirole tactical bomber, consisting of two people, died in the crash.

The preliminary cause of the Su-34 crash was considered a technical failure, according to the Russian defense ministry. The Kremlin news agency, RIA Novosti, reported that representatives of the Russian air force commission arrived at the scene.

The Ukrainian portal rbc.ua published a video on Telegram in which a loud bang, resulting from the machine striking the ground, can be heard.
