Streamer's supercar crash sparks backlash and kick ban
American streamer and YouTuber Jack Doherty recently had a close call with death. A recording of him crashing his supercar into highway barriers has taken the internet by storm. The creator has faced criticism for his behavior in response to the entire situation.
Heavy rain, a highway, and high speed make for a dangerous combination. Add to that a 20-year-old streamer at the wheel who is browsing chat on his smartphone instead of watching the road. What could be the result? Jack Doherty crashed on the highway, and the footage of the crash is circulating online.
The streamer was accompanied by a cameraman who recorded throughout the crash. Thanks to the video, we see that Jack was literally glued to his phone screen while driving in the rain. He started screaming in terror when he realized the car had skidded, and disaster was unavoidable.
Jack Doherty - accident during streaming
Jack's behavior after the accident sparked controversy. The YouTuber turned on the phone's recording feature to capture every second of the dramatic event. While the cameraman sat bloodied in the passenger seat, moaning in pain, Jack got out of the vehicle and lamented over the wrecked McLaren. He seemed to show little concern for his friend's well-being, as witnesses provided assistance.
When the cameraman exited the vehicle, it was clear he was injured and bleeding from the head. Jack asked his friend if he was okay, then handed him the camera to record the YouTuber against the backdrop of the supercar wreck.
Jack Doherty banned on Kick
The streaming platform Kick, where Jack Doherty was broadcasting, removed the creator's account. Apparently, the 20-year-old has a chance to recover it if he pays a large sum to another streamer, Adin Ross.
Jack Doherty shared a video on Instagram from the hospital. The footage shows the cameraman receiving stitches on his forehead.
