  • As the approaching storm Rafael neared the coast of Cuba, authorities ordered the evacuation of over 70,000 residents of the Caribbean island. According to meteorologists, the tropical storm is expected to become a hurricane as it reaches Cuba.
  • British Prime Minister Keir Starmer announced an additional 75 million pounds for border protection. He stated that the government would implement anti-terrorism strategies to dismantle human smuggling gangs, BBC reported on Monday.
  • Nigerian President Bola Tinubu ordered on Monday the immediate release of 29 teenagers accused of treason, an offense that carries the death penalty, according to the Minister of Information, Mohammed Idris.
