Steve Bannon sparks outrage with Nazi-style salute at CPAC

"Fight, fight, fight!" shouted Steve Bannon at the conservative CPAC conference near Washington. The right-wing podcaster and former White House strategist then performed what appeared to be a Nazi salute, after which he bowed his head and added, "Amen."

There was a scandal at the national-conservative CPAC (Conservative Political Action Conference) in the USA.

On the first day, Steve Bannon, an American political advisor, journalist, and Donald Trump's 2016 campaign manager, asked the audience whether they were ready to fight for the president, the republic, and the USA. From the podium, he urged everyone not to give up, stating that this was the only way to achieve victory.

Shocking behavior at the convention

"We are not gonna quit, fight, fight, fight!" shouted Bannon, and then performed what appeared to be a Nazi salute. "Amen. God bless you. You are wonderful," he added.

Bannon also called for a third term for Trump and claimed that leaders like Trump appear only twice in history.

Joshua Reed Eakle, president of the organization Project Liberal, responded to the clip on X: "Nazism has officially taken over the GOP."

"This is Trump's America," noted the political group Really American on X.

Nick Fuentes, a national socialist, described both Elon Musk's earlier gesture and Bannon's current gesture as "Roman salutes." Nevertheless, he called them "sick," adding: "It's getting a little uncomfortable, even for me."

The Independent commented that Bannon's gesture appeared to carry no other unmistakable message beyond what seemed apparent.

Who is Steve Bannon?

Bannon is one of the creators of the "alt-right" movement in the United States and has promoted far-right ideas. After leaving the White House in 2017, he continued his political activities, supporting populist movements in the USA and Europe and engaging in various media projects.

He is also controversial due to his statements and views, which are often criticized for spreading hatred and inciting social divisions.
