Step up your breakfast game with homemade Kaiser rolls
Homemade Kaiser rolls are the perfect way to kick off your day. They are crispy on the outside, soft and fluffy on the inside, and herb butter beautifully enhances their flavor.
Kaiser rolls are some of the most popular rolls found in stores. Rather than purchasing low-quality bread made from deep frozen dough, choose homemade rolls instead. This is a reliable recipe for a breakfast that will delight your loved ones. Some sources suggest that the name "Kaiser" comes from the German word "Kaiser", meaning emperor. These rolls can certainly make you feel royal.
Recipe for Kaiser Rolls
Crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside, freshly baked Kaiser rolls melt in your mouth. Preparing them is easier than you might think, and the aroma of baking dough will fill your home and make your stomach rumble.
Homemade rolls with cuts are far superior to store-bought ones. Herb-garlic butter with finely chopped shallots enhances the experience. These rolls taste best fresh, but they can be stored in an airtight container for 2-3 days.
Ingredients:
Kaiser Rolls
- 0.7 oz fresh yeast
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 1 cup water
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 pinch of salt
- 1 egg
- 2.5 oz melted butter
Herb Butter
- 1 clove of garlic
- 3.5 oz butter
- 1/3 cup chopped chives
- 1/3 cup chopped parsley
- 1 small shallot
- 1/3 teaspoon salt
Instructions:
Step 1. Crumble the yeast into warm water, add a tablespoon of flour and sugar, and stir. Let the mixture sit for 15 minutes to rise until it doubles in volume.
Step 2. Meanwhile, prepare the herb butter. Peel and crush the garlic, then mix it with the softened butter. Add the finely chopped shallot, chives, parsley, and salt, and mix thoroughly.
Step 3. Sift the remaining flour into a bowl. Add salt, egg, melted butter, and the risen yeast. Knead until you have a smooth, uniform dough for the rolls. Set it aside for an hour to rise.
Step 4. Gently stretch the risen dough on a floured surface and divide it into smaller portions. Form balls and then roll them out. Fold the edges to the center to form the shape of Kaiser rolls. Check out the video recipe for a detailed demonstration. Let rise for 30 minutes.
Step 5. Place the prepared rolls on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Bake in an oven preheated to 355°F for 15 minutes.
Step 6. Serve the crispy Kaiser rolls with the prepared herb-garlic butter. Enjoy!
