The 19-year-old Millie Bobby Brown is a rising star on the streaming giant's platform. Proving that her career post "Stranger Things" is only gaining traction, her next Netflix endeavor is the "Damsel," directed by Juan Carlos Fresnadillo.

The four-season series "Stranger Things," which has been in production since 2016, catapulted her to fame, but Brown is eager to wrap up work on this project. Anticipating the new professional challenges ahead, this Netflix star is seizing the opportunity.

She has already showcased her talent in two segments as the most famous detective's sister, Enola Holmes. A third installment is in the works. Additionally, she played Madison Russell in two monster-themed productions, "Godzilla II: King of the Monsters" and "Godzilla vs. Kong."

Not a fearful knight, but a daring princess

During the Netflix Geek Week event, which concluded on Sunday, November 12, 2023, a new project featuring Brown was unveiled. "Damsel" by Juan Carlos Fresnadillo is an adventure fantasy film where the actress portrays a compliant princess, named Elodie, preparing for an arranged marriage to a handsome prince. However, she discovers too late that her family has orchestrated this union solely to sacrifice her and settle their debts.

Playing the troubled princess, Brown will challenge a fire-breathing dragon in a cave. Not the first noblewoman to battle a mythical creature, she must depend on her wit and resourcefulness.

"Damsel": Cast, creators, and release date

Apart from the "Stranger Things" stunner, the cast includes Angela Bassett ("Black Panther: Wakanda in My Heart"), Robin Wright ("Ozark"), Ray Winstone ("Black Widow"), Nick Robinson ("Jurassic World"), Brooke Carter ("Peripheral"), and Shohreh Aghdashloo ("Renfield").

Directorial leadership was provided by Juan Carlos Fresnadillo ("28 Weeks Later"), with the script written by Dan Mazeau ("Fast & Furious 10"), and cinematography by Larry Fong ("300", "Watchmen").
