She audaciously turned self-harm into a performance. She boasted about this on Twitch (a platform initially for streaming video games, but now also a hub for influencers of all sorts), where she enjoys a following of 230 thousand subscribers.

During an episode of the podcast, Club 113, she revealed she had undergone meniscus removal surgery. In an interesting turn of events, the doctors jokingly asked if she wanted to keep a piece of her body. Not missing a beat, she replied, "Yes."

She consumed a piece... of herself!

The subsequent actions of the online celebrity were stomach-churning. Paula Gonu cooked spaghetti and added a piece of her cartilage to it. Her intention? She "wanted this fragment to return to her." Astonishingly, her boyfriend agreed to consume the Bolognese sauce with pasta dish with an unusual addition - his girlfriend's meniscus.

The response from the online community was not as she might have imagined. The act elicited a wave of criticism directed towards the 30-year-old influencer.

"You've gone too far, girl", "Why are you bragging about this? Isn't it enough that you've carried out your plan?" "I have no words," – these were the more tempered comments found on the internet. However, the Spanish influencer saw nothing odd in her behaviour, arguing that human meat is no different than animal meat.
