On Monday, the spokesman for the European Commission, Thomas Regnier, emphasized the EU Digital Services Act (DSA), which establishes rules for content moderation on online platforms. According to it, platforms must respond to potential threats to electoral processes in the European Union.
Controversies around Elon Musk
The spokeswoman for the Spanish government also addressed recent controversies involving the owner of Platform X. Elon Musk, a well-known billionaire and close associate of Donald Trump, is increasingly involved in European politics. Recently, he called the Chancellor of Germany, Olaf Scholz, a "fool" and President Frank-Walter Steinmeier an "anti-democratic tyrant." He supported the far-right Alternative for Germany (AfD) party and urged King Charles III to dissolve the British Parliament.
