In Friday's Italian Serie C match, 23-year-old forward Raimonds Krollis left the field in the 33rd minute after being shown a red card. His early exit weakened Triestina, which is currently battling to stay in the league.

The 47-year-old Spaniard, Pep Clotet, who took over as coach last month, did not hide his dissatisfaction. He summoned Krollis, grabbed him by the top of his shirt, and began to shake him. The coach's behavior was recorded and quickly spread on social media.

As reported by the Polish Press Agency, despite playing with a disadvantage for over an hour, Triestina came close to securing a valuable point. However, in the 87th minute, the opponents scored a goal, sealing their 1-0 victory. This marks the team's ninth defeat in 14 matches this season.

The incident between Clotet and Krollis garnered attention not only from Italian media but also from international outlets, including British and American. After the game, the coach showed no remorse, claiming his reaction was justified and stating that the forward's attitude led him to see no future for him at Triestina.

Fans demand the coach's dismissal

The coach's reaction did not please many internet users, who are calling for the fiery coach's dismissal. Many commenters on social media expressed support for the shaken forward.

"The coach should be fined and disqualified," wrote one internet user, commenting on the video on the X platform.
"Maximum respect for Krollis, truly a great example, whereas for the coach, immediate dismissal and the end of his career," wrote another.

There were also those who believed the Spanish coach's behavior was not a problem. "I think he deserves applause because he didn't hit or slap him, just shook him. I would have kicked his out," one user stated.
