Southern California hit by an earthquake of about five magnitude on the morning of February 12th
Several smaller earthquakes also followed. No major damage was reported by the authorities.

The event took place at 9:36 am on 12 February local time. The epicenter of the earthquake was 3 kilometers from El Centro, a town in Southern California, near the country's border with Mexico. The earthquake's magnitude was about 5 on the Richter scale and was followed by a few less significant repeats.
The El Centro is a small town in Southern California and lays only about 7 miles from the country's border with Mexico. It's population reaches about 45 thousand people. All of the Imperial Valley with a population about 180 thousand people was affected though.
The authorities reported no one heart or injured and no immediate damage was reported. The amount of total smaller and larger earthquakes was almost a dozen.
In Southern California earthquakes are quite often occurences. In whole California state, each year there are about two or three earthquakes of the magnitude of about 5 able to cause some minor or sometimes even a major damage.
