Seoul is considering the deployment of soldiers, intelligence officers with expertise in North Korea, and enemy tactics specialists to Ukraine. This decision comes in reaction to reports of North Korean soldiers fighting on Russia's behalf.

According to local media, citing a South Korean intelligence representative, personnel from Seoul would assist in interrogation and translation if North Korean soldiers are captured by Ukrainian forces. Additionally, specialists from South Korea would share insights on North Korean military tactics, doctrine, and operations.

On Monday, the South Korean Ministry of Defense said it would consider supplying arms to Ukraine. Previously, Seoul had only extended humanitarian aid to Kyiv.

The authorities also indicated they would send a delegation to NATO to exchange information on military cooperation between Russia and North Korea. "Seoul will take active countermeasures depending on how the situation evolves," they announced.

Kim sends "large troops"

On Friday, South Korean intelligence reported that North Korea decided to send 12,000 special forces soldiers to Russia, with 1,500 already present on Russian soil.

The day before, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky stated that Pyongyang plans to prepare 10,000 soldiers to support Russia. He also warned that North Korea's involvement could lead to the outbreak of a world war.

According to RBC-Ukraine sources in special services, Russian forces detained 18 North Korean soldiers attempting to flee from positions in the Kursk region yesterday, in the Komarytsky district of the Bryansk region. They may now be used in operations against Ukrainian forces.
