Son of Nicolas Cage faces arrest for deadly weapon assault

Weston Cage, the son of a famous Hollywood actor, has been on the wrong side of the law for years due to domestic violence. News of his latest arrest would not have made much of an impression were it not for the fact that this time, he is suspected of armed assault.

Police had sought the 33-year-old son of Nicolas Cage since April. He was suspected of beating up his mother in her own home. Fifty-seven-year-old Christina Fulton wanted to meet with her son to support him during a difficult emotional moment in his life.

Weston Cage and Christina Fulton reportedly got into a verbal altercation that then turned into a scuffle and possibly even a fight. An ambulance arrived, but no one was transported to the hospital. Police officers also arrived. Sources close to the police indicated that the incident was severe enough that officers are investigating it as a possible crime. When officers arrived at Fulton's home, they did not find Weston Cage, who had fled in an unknown direction before they arrived.

TMZ published a photo of Christina Fulton, who was photographed last Sunday with a bruise under her left eye. The yellow discoloration was also visible on her forehead and cheek. She did not want to make any statements and asked for her privacy to be respected.

According to data from the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Office, Weston Cage was arrested by police on Wednesday, July 10, at 10:00 AM Eastern Time and was booked at the station at 10:57 AM. It is currently unknown whether his arrest is related to the events at Christina Fulton's home (there is such suspicion). However, it was reported that the 33-year-old was arrested for assault with a deadly weapon.

The "Daily Mail" recalls that the son of the Hollywood star had previously struggled with mental health issues. In 2011, he and his then-wife, Nikki Williams, were jailed on charges of domestic violence after a fight broke out between them. The young Cage had cut his arm with a bottle, and Williams had threatened to jump off a balcony. It’s worth remembering that in the same year, his famous father was also arrested by the police for domestic violence against his wife and for disturbing the peace.
