Son of hamas co‑founder advocates for execution of group's leaders

Mosab Hassan Yousef, the son of a Hamas co-founder, is requesting Israel to kill Hamas leaders, inclusive of his very own father, provided the organization doesn't release all hostages. Yousef, who was previously a spy for Israel from 1997 to 2007, argues that this drastic action could trigger the collapse of Hamas.

Yousef asserts that Israel should allow a defined period for Hamas to release the hostages. If they fail to release the kidnap victims within this timeframe, he suggests enacting the death penalty for the previously detained top leaders - including his father.

"Israel cannot persist on this path. Hamas needs a clock; a month, two, or even six for the release of the hostages - if they do not comply within this period, Israel needs to proceed with the execution of the leading Hamas figures, particularly the masterminds of mass murder," he stated during a 10-minute film featured on X service.

While discussing the potential execution of top leaders, Yousef mentioned: "I make no exclusions, including my own father. I made critical errors a decade or a decade and a half ago when I repeatedly saved his life... Ultimately, he deserved to die for his actions. I preserved his life at that time. The situation hasn't improved, rather it has deteriorated."

Mosab also expressed disagreement with Israel's decision to release detainees in return for hostages. He speculated that the former detainees could project to kill "a considerable number of innocent civilians." He further stated that wrongdoers should not be "rewarded for their offenses".

Mosab proposed that Israel should regard hostages as "prisoners of war", shifting the focus from a mere hostage rescue mission to a more offensive strategy aimed at eradicating Hamas.
